Each year, nearly 3,000 Dutch citizens receive the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, and unfortunately, this number continues to rise. Pancreatic cancer is the second deadliest type of cancer after lung cancer. A staggering 93% of diagnosed patients die within six months. Every day, eight people succumb to this disease. Help prevent this by contributing to scientific research on viro-immunotherapy. Every donation, big or small, is valuable.

The Support Casper campaign is part of the Foundation for Surviving Pancreatic Cancer, both established in 2015. The founders are all friends or family of individuals who have passed away from pancreatic cancer. Alarmingly, there is very little attention given to pancreatic cancer, likely because most people succumb to it so quickly that there is no time or opportunity to organize campaigns or raise awareness.

The face of the campaign is Prof. Dr. Casper van Eijck, who has been a specialist at Erasmus MC for 30 years. Prof. Dr. Casper van Eijck is not only a renowned surgeon and researcher in the field of pancreatic cancer but is also deeply involved with his patients, who come from both the Netherlands and abroad. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Casper van Eijck is affiliated with the football club Feyenoord as a team doctor.

With the funds raised by Support Casper, Prof. Dr. Casper van Eijck (Erasmus MC) has assembled a multidisciplinary team, the OVIT consortium (oncolytic viro-immunotherapy), consisting of doctors and scientists from various academic centers. They are conducting groundbreaking clinical scientific research into the possibilities of viro-immunotherapy.
